ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Reports to: Director Commercial Finance - Spend Optimization & Analytics
No Direct Reports
Core Relationships:
Internal – Revenue Growth Management, Consumer Marketing, Consumer Experience, Commercial Finance, Category/Brand Teams, Trade Marketing, Digital Business Services/IDT and Central Commercial Finance teams based out of the UK and/or other Business Units, Procurement
External – 3rd parties / Marketing Spend Management & Optimization Agencies

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensure effective Data Management practices are adopted for Spend Optimization including data Storage & processing:
- Ability to work with 3rd parties / Spend Optimization agencies to set up and manage Spend related data storage for source files.
- Management of MSE data, review and processing of data, initial quality assurance on weekly/monthly basis.
- Support the maintenance of processed and modelled records, including intellectual property (IP) management, if any.
- Source, update, and store weekly / monthly data files related to all applicable marketing spend and inputs for MSE modelling.
- Coordinate data cleansing and streamlining efforts to enhance quality of input data.
- Drive improvements in off-take / retail scan data templates to enhance data quality and usability.
- Handle and manage complex data sets to support delivery of actionable insights.
- Drive continuous improvement in Spend Optimization Processes to achieve automation & enhanced management reporting:
- Develop and drive automation tools for KPI tracking related to Spend Optimization to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the automation of modelling processes for ad hoc MSE analysis, ensuring timely and reliable insights.
- Drive the automation process for MSE data model, spend reconciliation process, touchpoint effectiveness & quality assurance.
- Work with 3rd parties / Spend Optimization agencies to identify tools and technologies to continuously automate MSE models.
- Operational execution of the MSE model, analytical review & on-going automation efforts.
- Reporting and dashboarding of all MSE models and outputs. Providing inputs to the Agency to improve the MSE tool and its operational effectiveness.
- Working closely with Agency & DBS / 3rd party service providers to build In-house capability for MSE tool.
- Lead best practices in Data Management and Quality Assurance to deploy most efficient Spend Optimization strategies:
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of stored data through regular updates and quality checks.
- Conduct initial screening of data to ensure inputs are as per required data standards.
- Define data standards and data quality requirements. Align all standards and requirements with budget holders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Implement best practices for data storage, processing, and management including continuous improvement to drive efficiencies. Ensure Execution and stabilization of the MSE Tool on an on-going basis.
- Ensure Cross-Functional Collaboration across all relevant processes related to MSE Tool data capture and maintenance:
- Work closely with various teams to ensure data needs are met and insights are effectively integrated into business strategies.
- Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing across departments to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure integration of all data sets into the MSE tool, effectively.
- Coordinate timely inputs of data from source functions including budget holders and other cross-functional representatives.
- Extend the MSE data models to multiple categories and ensure operational connect with Commercial Finance teams.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in handling, processing, and maintaining data related to MSE tool:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance data management, processing, and analysis capabilities.
- Stay updated with the latest tools and technologies to drive innovation in data processing and automation.
- Work closely with Digital Business Solutions and 3rd party / external agency team to implement future-fit tools to enable MSE execution as per business plans.
CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?
- Do you have finance, analytics, optimization experience with Commercial/Strategic Finance or Marketing Spend Strategies?
- Have you worked in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and time management of multiple deadlines?
- Are you familiar with PowerBI, MicroStrategy and/or other data analysis tools
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Three to Five years of experience in Finance, Commercial Finance, Commercial Planning & Insights, Data Management, Analysis, and Insights Generation.
- Bachelor’s degree required typically in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel and Data Automation skills.
- Proven experience in financial and commercial data storage, processing, and automation.
- Proven experience in data automation tools, e.g., Alteryx, Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath etc.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data and provide meaningful insights.
- Experience with tools and methodologies for spend analysis and analytics.
- Ability to drive executional excellence in Spend Planning and Insights generation area to optimize marketing spend.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with budget holders and cross-functional teams.
BENEFICIAL
- Proficient with Power BI, MicroStrategy.
- BPC/SAP knowledge preferred.
- Advanced Degrees: An MBA or Master’s Degree in relevant field can be advantageous.
