British American Tobacco Italy has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer in Rome
A Buyer is responsible for the company’s end to end sourcing of products and services (indirect materials) essential for company’s operations. Position includes all phases of sourcing that require the skills necessary to identify cost savings opportunities, create competitive environment, creatively negotiate, support contracting process to assure availability of all products and services to support company objectives and protect company from unfavorable conditions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Understands customer requirements including their business goals to be able to deliver business benefits
- Responsible for the development and execution of sourcing plans within the End Market/Cluster and delivering added value in terms of high level service and savings, while building strong business relationships
- Challenges demand and requirements and manage customer expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
- Communicates appropriate supply chain and procurement messages regarding strategies, process and policies to customers, to ensure compliance and engender a common understanding of each other’s goals and targets
- Collaborates effectively with the Global Procurement team on above-market initiatives
- Shares knowledge and expertise with the other EM and leverage where appropriate
- Supports business in driving business agenda and playing a role of procurement business partner supporting the smart spend management and supplier management
- To apply global/local policies, standards and platforms including the agreed Sourcing Management methodology and approach and to deliver robust terms and conditions that manages BAT’s service delivery and commercial risk.
What are we looking for?
- At least two (2) years experience in the management of the procurement of marketing and corporate indirect goods and services in procurement department of multinational companies
- Proven capability of applying supplier management techniques to ensure contracted benefits are delivered.
- Professional knowledge of procurement principals, including solid negotiation skills.
- Sound knowledge of local Italian corporate regulations and legislation
- Excellent analytical, presentation skills and project management
- Solid commercial awareness, interpersonal and communication skills,
- Fluency in English
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite of Excel and Power Point, knowledge of Power BI
