BAT HK has an exciting opportunity for a GTR Account Manager, Greater China Area.
We seek an Account Manager to drive sales, market share, and revenue growth in the Global Travel Retail (GTR) sector, specifically focusing on Greater China Area. This role focuses on managing key accounts, fostering strong customer relationships, and optimizing business performance across the coverage markets.
Markets: China, Hong Kong, Taiwan
Key Accounts: 7 major customers
Reports: 5 direct reports (4 in China, 1 in Taiwan)
Your key responsibilities will include:
Operational/Professional/Business
- Manage responsible key accounts end to end operation and deliver volume, market share, and profit as per expectations.
- Building and developing customer relationships. Establish relationships with key staffs and board level of customers.
- Lead account strategy & work with account executive & activation team to develop specific account business plans.
- Commercial agreement negotiations for responsible key accounts and ensure BAT investments are applied in a balanced manner based on TCI principles to ensuring BAT’s fair share of net available.
- Increase legitimate volume and value potential of BAT brands in travel retail channels (border shops, diplomatic outlets, ferries, airlines).
- Explore all responsible growth opportunities in coverage markets with key focus on Global Drive Brands and Next Generation Products.
- Confer with customers and airport authorities to stay abreast of airport developments; evaluate potential opportunities and act to exploit these.
- Identify and drive efficiency improvement of account business model.
- Conduct consistent key accounts business reviews.
- Drive analysis of responsible markets and accounts.
Management, Leadership & Relationships
- Provide development and coaching to direct reports, ensure progression within the organisation.
- Closely work with activation team in development of activation strategy and implementation to ensure delivery.
- Drive understanding, two-way communication, and consensus of travel retail account strategies with relevant internal business collaborators..
- Collaborate closely with GTR cross functional team members to optimize business performance.
- Ensure GTR governance and policies obligations are met.
What are we looking for?
- Strong trade marketing exposure in a managerial position within a multinational company (preferably in key account management and in the Global Travel Retail / FMCG segment)
- Strong people soft skills and ability to influence relevant collaborators.
- Ability to operate independently with a focus on delivering results
- Proven Business and Financial Competence.
- Capability & experience for Route to Market planning and review.
- Marketing knowledge – formal qualification desirable with comprehensive understanding of all elements of the marketing mix
- Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, communication (oral and written), negotiation and planning skills
- Working knowledge of all inter-related company functions including Supply Chain, Marketing Finance, IT, Customer Service, Legal, HR and the management of agencies.
- Ability to analyse problem and recommend solutions and drive action plans within organisational policy
- Written and spoken fluency in English, Mandarin & Cantonese is must.
- Willingness to travel (up to 35% of FTE annually)
- Wholistic of understanding of nicotine sector regulation, tax & excise, and custom related regulation and its relationship with responsible markets.
