JOB TITLE: Assistant Finance Manager - Operations

FUNCTION: Finance

LOCATION: Sri Lanka

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Assistant Finance Manager – Operations role isresponsible for supporting the Operations Finance Manager in providing timely proactive financial evaluation, information and recommendations that enables Operations teams and management to develop and implement effective plans and take informed decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Actively contribute the operational forums with financials insights & ensuring accountability and alignment of financial metrics.
  • Prepare financial Reports and conduct Financial Analysis to identify and address exceptional operational issues.
  • Collaborate with Head of Departments to capture financial insights and enhance reporting.
  • Lead the operations team in implementing proper control mechanisms, ensuring 100% compliance with governance standards.
  • Assist the Operations Finance Manager in the preparation of budgets, plans, and forecasts, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Engage with the Operations Team on financial controls, cost controls, and savings initiatives, ensuring effective resource allocation and risk management.
  • Collaborate with area/regional finance teams to ensure effective achievement of financial KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement though automations and enable simplification of complex processes.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or  equivalent professional accountancy qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA. MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of financial experience in a leading FMCG company.
  • Understand the impact of the accounting processes and practices and any changes in accounting standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and coordinate effectively within the DRBU, with stakeholders at varying levels in the organizational hierarchy.
  • Able to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions.
  • Meticulous, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision to contribute to change in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret financial data.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and urgency with willingness to grow within the organization.
