BAT ROMANIA IS LOOKING FOR A Transactional Finance Analyst
SENIORITY LEVEL: Non-Management

LOCATION: Bucharest
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The role is part of GBS ENA and is responsible for effective and timely delivery of the daily tasks (bank accounts clearings, journal postings, fixed assets transactions) and month/ year-end closing activities (bank and balance sheet reconciliations).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Contributing to the effective and timely delivery of General Ledger and Fixed Assets activities, including month and year end closure activities, routine journals, provisions, accounts reconciliation ensure all the requests are actioned within the agreed SLA (Service Level Agreement)
- Ad-hoc analyses on balance sheet or P&L accounts for End Markets within their responsibility
- Be responsible for performing monthly and quarterly reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts, according to the existing policies and procedures
- Be responsible for allocating the bank balances on time and in full, as per the existing policies and procedures
- Identify and actively pursue improvement opportunities to increase the overall efficiency and effectiveness of processes in General Ledger
- Conduct all relevant validations & controls as per the defined schedule, thereby helping to identify and rectify processing errors on a timely basis.
- Performing analysis in an accurate and timely manner, driving open items reduction; maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in agreed global targets
- Maintain a well-documented process e.g. through the TLDs or other work instruction.
- Ensure 100% compliance to Sox for controls in scope
- Ensure that queries from customers / employees / business units /suppliers are resolved in line with the relevant Service Level Agreement. Any issues not resolved are managed in accordance with the issue resolution policy. Escalate any urgent issues to the Manager/Supervisor within agreed timescales.

- External Auditors – to respond to queries and requests for information.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
- Minimum 1-year accounting experience
- Finance/ Economic background and education
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (especially Excel) and SAP knowledge is a plus
- Good English and Romanian communication skills
BENEFICIAL
- Previous experience of working in a Global Shared Services
- Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. ACCA/CIMA/CECAR)
