British American TobaccoRomania has an exciting opportunity for an EHS Coordinator in Bucharest
We are looking for an EHS & Sustainability Professional with experience in EHS & Sustainability controls, policies, and legal requirements that will maintain and improve the safety culture within organization. In addition with the EHS experience the role is for people passioned about CSR and Wellbeing.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Understand and apply current Romanian legislation, internal BAT standards, authorizations, and company procedures related to occupational health and safety, emergency situations, and environmental protection.
- Provide technical expertise on EHS matters, liaising with other departments or external consultants/organizations for any necessary clarifications, guidance, or confirmations.
- Work with workers, their representatives, external prevention and protection services, and the occupational health doctor to coordinate preventive and protective measures.
- Participate in internal and external audits specific to applicable legislation, BAT standards, and environmental, health, and safety management systems.
- Develop and revise EHS-related instructions, training materials, guides, procedures, and communication materials as needed.
- Oversee and monitor the company's environmental and social performance, including CO2 emissions, water and energy consumption, and waste management.
- Develop and implement initiatives to reduce the company's carbon footprint. Promote circular economy practices and efficient resource use.
- Implement risk management measures to minimize the negative environmental and social impacts.
What are we looking for?
- Must be legally authorized to work in Romania
- The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate teams for maximum results, drive change and successfully lead and implement change activities in high accountability culture and metrics driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with all levels of employees.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
- Significant experience with day to day application of laws and regulations.
- Ability to interact with government officials and partners.
- Knowledge of technical practices and programs used in the reduction of workplace hazards.
